2025 Masterclasses: July 8, 10, 15, 17
Each Masterclass includes four 90-minute Zoom sessions
11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. CST
Teachers will leave the Masterclasses with:
- a TfT implementation plan for the upcoming school year
- a professional network beyond their school with other teachers in expertise area
- a deeper understanding of TfT’s core and essential practices
- a renewed enthusiasm for TfT living in their classrooms
Pricing per school:
- 2+ teachers from the same school: $99 each
- 1 teacher: $119

TfT Masterclasses will be offered in the following specialty areas:
instructional coaching | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: If you've attending the TfT Coaching Intensive, this masterclass is for you! For anyone who has completed at least level 100, join us for this masterclass that serves as a complement to the annual Coaching Intensive event.
Facilitator: Amanda Albright is the Director of Learning for Teaching for Transformation. She has taught in public and private schools in the Pacific Northwest as well as a Christian school in the Dominican Republic, and has served in a variety of school leadership roles. Her passion for education was fueled and shaped by her time overseas, and she continues to find great joy in working with teachers and leaders from a variety of backgrounds. As a school designer for TfT, Amanda bears witness to students and teachers growing into a deeper understanding of who God is as they learn and live His Story. Beyond her work with schools, Amanda loves an adventure and is particularly drawn to traveling internationally to meet people and climb mountains around the world.

early childhood: Preschool-K | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in early childhood classroom with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Tami Boomsma is an Instructional Coach and Kindergarten teacher at Dutton Christian School in West Michigan. A longtime lover of sharing God's story with young children, Tami credits TfT for transforming both her classroom practices and her own personal faith. She is passionate about encouraging others as they do this Kingdom work. Tami finds joy in thoughtful conversations, grandson giggles, and a good book.

storyboards: k-12 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your design and practices with TfT storyboards that map the learning journey within God's Story.
Facilitator: Kristen Mast teaches middle school & high school social studies at Avail Academy in Blaine, Minnesota. Kristen's Deep Hope is to positively impact her community by empowering others to serve God's Kingdom with their giftings. Kristen and her family moved to Minnesota in 2020, and have been encouraged by the intentional integration of faith & learning provided by Avail Academy and Teaching for Transformation. Her passions especially lie in strengthening Christian involvement in community and engaging students & teachers in meaningful learning experiences. She has provided professional learning sessions for teachers through various organizations, such as the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies (MCSS) and the Minnesota Historical Society. Kristen is also pursuing a doctorate degree from Concordia St. Paul, with her dissertation focusing on the impact of professional learning within social studies education. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, going for a run, or exploring Minnesota's state parks.

reflection: k-12 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your design of reflection that invites, nurtures, and empowers learners into deeper learning within God's Story.
Facilitator: Peter Welle is Director of Teaching & Learning and teaches AP World History at Southwest Christian High School in Chaska, Minnesota. In all his work with students, Peter tries to play the long game, aiming at lifelong goals and habits of the heart. His pedagogical practice has been invigorated by Teaching for Transformation: he has witnessed his students find deeper purpose for understanding history—as a means to activate kingdom life. In 2024, as he prepared to step away from teaching full time, Peter was one of three teachers in the state of Minnesota honored with an Outstanding Educator Award by the Synergy & Leadership Exchange organization. When he's not at school, Peter can usually be found at home with his family playing board games, strumming his guitar, or muttering under his breath about the Minnesota Vikings.

elementary: 1-5 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in the elementary grades with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Elizabeth Benscoter is an Instructional Coach at Grace Community School in Tyler Texas. As an elementary classroom teacher, TfT invigorated and focused her teaching practices as she led her students to be active participants in God’s Story. She now enjoys sharing this passion through supporting teachers in their instructional practices. When she is not in the classroom, you can find Elizabeth sipping a cup of tea while she crochets or reads, or enjoying a walk through the woods.

middle school: 6-8 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in the middle school grades with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Stacey Hicklin, a middle school science teacher and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Delaware County Christian School in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, loves the wild world of middle school. TfT’s framework empowers her to invite students to discover their unique roles and purposes in God's Story. Beyond the classroom, Stacey finds joy in walking outdoors, tending plants, savoring coffee, and immersing herself in great books.

english language arts: 6-12 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in the ELA classroom with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Aimee Tawzer is the High School English teacher and Department Chair at Central Christian School in Redmond, Oregon. She enjoys curriculum design and believes in literature as a powerful tool for transformation. Teaching for Transformation has brought clarity and cohesion to the English secondary curriculum by offering a framework that unites biblical integration, essential questions, and content. Outside of the classroom you will find her spending time with her husband and two children, going to the gym, or curling up with a cup of coffee at her favorite bookstore.

physical education: k-12 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in the PE setting with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Stacy Soerens teaches 7th-grade geography and middle school PE, with experience in 2nd and 3rd grades and elementary PE. She is passionate about using the Teaching for Transformation (TfT) framework to guide her students in becoming active participants in God's story, regardless of their age or stage in life. Stacy values building strong classroom culture and relationships, and through the TfT practices, she has further developed an environment where students feel supported and engaged in their academic and personal growth. Outside of school, Stacy enjoys a hot or iced cup of coffee, camping and watching her kids do what they love.

world languages: 6-12 | July 8, 10, 15, 17 (11AM CST)
Description: Deepen your implementation of the core practices in the World Languages classroom with sessions focused on Deep Hope and Storyline, Storyboards, Throughlines, and Formational Learning Experiences.
Facilitator: Dawna Spencer is a Spanish teacher, among other roles, at Central Christian School in Redmond, Oregon. She integrates her love of language and culture in the classroom with foundational TfT practices where students are encouraged to play an active role in God’s Story. Students are invited, nurtured, and empowered to courageously connect with God’s people using the Spanish language as Kingdom ambassadors. This is threaded through the classroom, the school community, the local community, and internationally, as demonstrated this year by an international mission/Spanish immersion trip to Costa Rica. When not in the classroom, Dawna loves to go on outdoor adventures in beautiful Central Oregon and spend quality time with her family.
