Jim Peterson is based in the greater Grand Rapids area. He brings administrative and teaching experience, as well as a love for the outdoors to his school designing. He loves camping and backpacking with his family. He believes all people should glorify God by being most truly who God made them to be, and that TfT invites teachers to empower students with that gift. Jim shares this Storyline from South Christian High School:
Discovering His Fingerprints... Leaving Our Own.
Jill Haagsma, a chemistry teacher at South Christian High School has this wonderful storyline spread across the front of her room. It ties in wonderfully with the mission of the school which is to equip students to live Christ centered lives and serve God to their greatest potential, because it inherently acknowledges that each student will have a unique fingerprint on this world.
A second really important quality of this storyline is the sense of journey that it gives students. They know from the moment that they walk in the class that not only are they going to learn science but they are going to do something with science. As you can see in the photos as kids learn much of their work goes up under the Discovering His Fingerprints. As they reflect on their doing those reflections collect under the Leaving Our Own.
